Course Name: Middle St. Vrain (multiple fish)
Distance: 8.3 miles
Vertical Gain: 995 feet
Fishable Waterbody: Middle St. Vrain Creek
Course Description: Reach the Middle St. Vrain Trailhead by driving through campgrounds Peaceful Valley and Camp Dick. There is a parking lot for dayhikers and backpackers and dudes adjusting air pressure in their prefered off road rigs. You can also park below Peaceful Valley CG and take the Sourdough trail for a pleasant warmup, but start tracker thing at the Middle St. Vrain TH. The trail follows the creek on the north side while the 4x4 road is off to the south. You won't see a car once on trail. Gain views of Sawtooth around 2.5mi. Tap the Buchanan Pass Trailhead sign for your turnaround shy of 4mi. Here you'll probably see people that drove up. Also a nice spot to crack your brewski and catch a fish or twoski. This TH accesses the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, so it's the end of the road for vehicles. Fishing for brook, brown, and cutthroat is great. Catch this trail between afternoon rains and it's butter. Catch it on a summer Saturday and you'll question things.
