Maddie Kleinman Wagner
Responsibilities: General oversight of business and affairs of Running Rivers.
Qualifications: Maddie is a Colorado native with a deep passion for philanthropic opportunities. This passion grew during her time at CU Boulder where she gave back through various campus initiatives. With a diverse background in both education and financial services, Maddie has spent over a decade teaching and mentoring others. From guiding inner-city high school students through the complexities of science to helping individuals navigate the financial world, her passion for education and empowering others has been a constant throughout her career.
Her husband, Andrew, introduced her to the thrill of landing trout and she has been “hooked” ever since. Her passion for fly fishing and conservation led her to become involved with the Flyathlon events and Running Rivers, where she combines her love for the outdoors with her drive to make a positive impact.
When Maddie isn’t fishing or supporting Flyathlon initiatives, you can find her hiking or skiing across Colorado’s stunning terrain, or spending time with her loyal (if somewhat skittish) dog, Drake. His ironic fear of flies adds a humorous twist – not just because he’s named after one, but because he gets taken on all their outdoor adventures.
Maddie is a two-time female short-course Flyathlon Champion and was the Top Fundraiser in 2021. She is thrilled to bring her professional experience and passion for the outdoors to her first year serving on the Running Rivers Board. She looks forward to helping further the organization's mission to protect and preserve Colorado’s precious waterways and outdoor spaces.
