Suffer Better 9th Annual Fall Trail Runs
When: We believe it will be on October 11th, 2025
Where: Staunton State Park, Pine, CO
Fishing Difficulty: EASY
Running Difficulty: DIFFICULT (Fish Slapping Division is a 25-kilometer run with a bunch of elevation gain)
Information: Our good friends at Suffer Better (also a Colorado registered 501c3 organization) have added a "fish slapping" division to their incredible Staunton Fall Trail Run 25K, with Running Rivers listed as one of their fundraiser beneficiary organizations. Same course as the other 25Kers, but you will stop at Elk Falls Pond to catch a brookie and take a shot of whiskey! Staunton State Park is an incredible place to run, so definitely put this on on your list!

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR 2025
Western North Carolina Flyathlon
Due to the 2024 catastrophic flooding in the Saluda, NC area resulting from Hurricane Helene, the Western North Carolina Flyathlon race will be taking a year off as the area rebuilds and recovers. It is our sincere hope that we will be able to return in 2026 bigger and better for the benefit of the southern Appalachian brook trout!
Driftless Flyathlon
The Driftless Flyathlon will not be taking place in 2025 to give it's volunteer organizers a well deserved break to recharge and regroup! We anticipate that this race will return in 2026 and beyond!
